The long time behavior of initially separated A + B → 0 reaction - diffusion systems with arbitrary diffusion constants

چکیده
We examine the long time behaviour of A + B → 0 reaction diffusion systems with initially segregated species A and B. All of our analysis is carried out for arbitrary (positive) values of the diffusion constants DA, DB, and initial concentrations a0 and b0 of A’s and B’s. We divide the domain of the partial differential equations describing the problem into several regions in which they can be reduced to simpler, solvable equations, and we merge the solutions. Thus we derive general formulae for the concentration profiles outside the reaction zone, the location of the reaction zone center, and the total reaction rate. An asymptotic condition for the reaction front to be stationary is also derived. The properties of the reaction layer are studied in the mean-field approximation, and we show that not only the scaling exponents, but also the scaling functions are independent of DA, DB, a0 and b0.

Complex dynamics in initially separated reaction-diffusion systems
We review recent developments in the study of the diffusion reaction systems of the type A + B ~ C in which the reactants are initially separated. We consider the case where the A and B particles are initially placed uniformly in Euclidean space at x > 0 and x < 0, respectively. We find that whereas for d /> 2 the mean field exponent characterizes the width of the reaction zone, fluctuations ar...
متن کاملLong-time behavior of reversible geminate recombination reactions
where an isolated molecule AB dissociates to a geminate pair A + B and recombines reversibly. If spatial inhomogeneities were immaterial, the course of the reaction would be determined solely by the bulk concentrations of A, B, and AB. In this limit the time evolution of these concentrations is governed by the ordinary chemical rate equations.' An initially bound molecule would then disappear i...
متن کاملBalanced clusters and diffusion process in signed networks
In this paper we study the topology effects on diffusion process in signed networks. Considering a simple threshold model for diffusion process, it is extended to signed networks and some appropriate definitions are proposed. This model is a basic model that could be extended and applied in analyzing dynamics of many real phenomena such as opinion forming or innovation diffusion in social netwo...
متن کاملAlmost sure exponential stability of stochastic reaction diffusion systems with Markovian jump
The stochastic reaction diffusion systems may suffer sudden shocks, in order to explain this phenomena, we use Markovian jumps to model stochastic reaction diffusion systems. In this paper, we are interested in almost sure exponential stability of stochastic reaction diffusion systems with Markovian jumps. Under some reasonable conditions, we show that the trivial solution of stocha...
متن کاملFinite integration method with RBFs for solving time-fractional convection-diffusion equation with variable coefficients
In this paper, a modification of finite integration method (FIM) is combined with the radial basis function (RBF) method to solve a time-fractional convection-diffusion equation with variable coefficients. The FIM transforms partial differential equations into integral equations and this creates some constants of integration. Unlike the usual FIM, the proposed method computes constants of integ...
